Saturday’s Song Selection

This Saturday’s Song Selection is……….

For the first Saturday in February (love month) and because I am feeling this song, this Saturday’s Song Selection go to the Beautiful Estelle featuring the Handsome Luke James with “So Easy

The lyrics go as:

I’m not perfect
But you love me flaws and all, yeah
Even when I piss your ass off
You know I’m worth it
‘Cause I could do this on my own, yeah
But me without you darling feels wrong, feels wrong

And oh, I’m so scared this all gon’ fall apart
Ooh, you should know I’m giving you my heart

‘Cause you make it so easy, yeah
I send him all the love (send him all)
I just can’t get enough (just can’t get enough)
You make it so easy
You’re everything I want (everything)
You’re so everything I love

When your in love all the songs about love make you smile and giggle with happiness, and this song captured the feeling of love expressed through words.

(Listen, baby)
You’re so perfect
‘Cause you stuck by me so long, eh
Even when I pissed your ass off, eh
You’re more than worth it
I couldn’t do this on my own, yeah
You’re the very reason I’m strong

When you meet that special person you want them to feel the love and remind them how much they mean to you. Even when you make them upset, they still love you because your more than worth it. Of course, a person can go through life settling for whomever but to find that special one that’s everything you want is a dream.

(See I know)
Oh, I know you’re scared it’s all gonna fall apart
Oh, you should know I’m giving you my heart, baby

‘Cause you make it so easy, yeah
I send him all the love (send him all)
I just can’t get enough (just can’t get enough)
You make it so easy
You’re everything I want (everything)
You’re so everything I love

Between the two of us
Uh-uh, I can see the light
I can see the happiness and I can see you’re right
Between the two of us
Yeah, I can see you real tight
Out, late, late nights
When you coming home fights
We do emergence
Making it together, huh
We bite and tease, yeah
‘Cause we the shit together now
You’re my Uzi, no
You’re my boobi, no
You’re my everything
My dude, for true, G
I said I’m giving you all of my heart
Now please don’t fuck around and break a girl apart
I promise I will give you what you give me
‘Cause it’s something ’bout this thing with you
It’s so easy (so easy)

At times you will have doubts if the one you are with, is in fact the one you are supposed to be with or will you and that person even make it through difficult times. But as long as two people are working towards the same goals with love, I’m sure they can last the test of time.

‘Cause you make it so easy (so, so easy)
I send him all the love (send him all)
I just can’t get enough (I just can’t get enough)
You make it so easy (so easy)
You’re everything I want (you’re everything)
You’re so everything I love (everything I love)

Everything, ooh
Everything, ooh
Since you make it so easy (you make it so easy)
Make it so easy baby (it’s so easy)
Ooh (you make this so easy, babe)
Just wanna fly with you (just fly)
Ooh, oh (okay, let’s go)

Through the storm (through the storm)
Through the rain (through the rain)
Let it pour down on us baby
As long as I’m with you (with you)
Nothing (nothing)
Nothing (nothing)
Will take my joy away, eh

You make it so easy baby (eh, eh)
You make it so easy baby (oh yeah)

Whatever way to be instead of being in love and happy? FrFr!

The BonFyre

The Queen loves nothing more than getting people hip to new artist aka Saturday’s Song Selection. This beautiful, talented artist named The Bonfyre.

She is actually an artist of the industry legend L.A. Reid & Raphael Saadiq discovered her, so I know she’s in good hands and he even co-manages her as well. She caught the attention of Saadiq a few years ago, and he helped hone her style of soulfulness.

The Bonfyre is from a small town called Chicopee, Boston. For some reason, Boston singers got soul (coughs) Jojo. Moving along, she moved to Atlanta to pursue music, and she got the name Bonfyre from people asking her what she wanted her music to sound like and how they would touch people. She instantly would think of a bonfire, and she loves the vibes, she loves that people are coming together, vibing out, and relaxing.

The Bonfyre explained the reason behind her name. When first asked about how she’d like her music to sound, she described it like friends around a bonfire, where there’s always “good times, good energy, good vibes.” It makes a lot of sense, really, and The Bonfyre has a come-up story that makes for perfect inspiration.

The Bonfyre has released an EP called Ready To Love, back in August. The EP is about being heartbroken and in love all at the same time. She feels like no one ever talks about this happening at the same time, and giiiiirl I can relate. However, she has a voice of a goddess, and she has so much soul to the point you are like damn girl is that you singing for real? I enjoy an artist who is authentic and are comfortable with their sound. Throughout each of the songs on her EP, you can tell she really wears her heart and emotions on her sleeve. Anyways, I am going to let you check her music and let it speak for itself.

“Blue Lights”

I wanna turn those blue lights into strobe lights
Not blue flashing lights, maybe fairy lights
Those blue lights into strobe lights
Maybe even fairy lights, not blue flashing lights

Don’t you run when you hear the sirens coming
When you hear the sirens coming
You better not run cause the sirens’ not coming for you
What have you done?
You went to school that day
Was a bit late but it was a Monday
Kept after class for answering back
You apologized any harm in that

I wanna turn those blue lights
What have you done
Into strobe lights
There’s no need to run
Not blue flashing lights
If you’ve done nothing wrong
Maybe fairy lights
Blue lights should just pass you by

Gun crime into your right ear
Drugs and violence into your left
Default white headphones flooding the auditory
Subconscious waves you accept
You’re sitting on the 4 back home
“Where you at, G? Answer your phone!”
Pause the poison to answer his message
Your boy sounds rushed, fears for his adolescence

I wanna turn those blue lights
What have you done
Into strobe lights
There’s no need to run
Not blue flashing lights
If you’ve done nothing wrong
Maybe fairy lights
Blue lights should just pass you by

Tall black shadow as you’re getting off the bus
Shadow shows no emotion so what’s even the fuss?
But the face of your boy casts a darker picture
Of the red handed act, he’s gonna whisper;
“Look blud I’m sorry cause I know you got my back
He was running, I couldn’t think, I had to get out of that”
Not long ago you were miming to the “Shook Ones”
Now this really is part two cause you’re the shook one
Hands you the tool as you question your friendship
How’s man like you gonna make me a convict?
Level of a felon when I’ve done nothing wrong
Blood on my hands but I don’t know where it’s from
Oh, you got blood on your hands but you don’t know where it’s from

You better run when you hear the sirens coming
When you hear the sirens coming
Better run when you hear the sirens coming
Cause they will be coming for you
Run when you hear the sirens coming
Better run when you hear the sirens coming
When you hear the sirens coming
The blue lights are coming for you

I wanna turn those blue lights
What have you done
Into strobe lights
There’s no need to run
Not blue flashing lights
If you’ve done nothing wrong
Maybe fairy lights
Blue lights should just pass you by

Blud, when you hear the sirens coming
Don’t you run when you hear the sirens coming
Blud, when you hear the sirens coming
Don’t you run when you hear the sirens coming
What have you d-d-d-done done
Don’t you run
Don’t you run
Don’t you run when you hear the sirens coming

“Every fix of your drug I’m feeling complete” — Leon Thomas

Today’s song selection goes to the handsome and talented Leon Thomas featuring Buddy in “Favorite”. The beat and melody of this song will just make you want to be in love.

I’m addicted to this song and cannot stop listening to it. Most of all the video is beautiful. Just make you want to hold the one you love forever.

Multi-talented entertainer Leon Thomas has released a futuristic visual for his new single “Favorite,” which features Compton native Buddy. Inspired by the Netflix hit-series Black Mirror, the Chris Berkenkamp-directed clip captures the essence of a timeless love.

“I was really excited to try something different in this video,” Thomas told Pigeons & Planes. “I wanted to showcase my ability to make a sort of short film. I’m a big fan of Black Mirror, and I think we’re getting very close to that space.”

“Favorite” is the first single from Thomas’ forthcoming album, Genesis, which is expected to drop this summer on Priority Records.

Thomas has established himself as a reputable actor. At the tender age of 10, he played Young Simba in The Lion King on Broadway, as well as starring roles in The Color PurpleCarolineChange and August Rush. In 2017, he joined the cast of HBO’s hit show Insecure as Eddie, and starred in the critically-acclaimed film Detroit.

Favorite Lyrics

Aye what you , what you say.
Girl why you playin.
Uh when I plan on staying.
Skip work in the morning.
Aye you’re the only one I see now.
Aye your the only one I think of.
I’ve been focused on this check , getting all that I can get.
But I found my way to you somehow.

(Chorus)

Don’t you go to far from me.
Every fix of your drug got me feelin complete.
Never felt this kind of love.
Don’t you go to far from me.
Every fix of your drug got me feelin complete.
I’m addicted to your touch.
Just a little is not enough.
Cause you’re my, you’re my favorite.
Favorite place to be, I’m for you you’re just for me.
And I say just what it is.
Cause you’re my, you’re my favorite

(Buddy)

Girl you know you body is amazing.
Everything I need, I’m not complaining.
Girl you got the thing that I’ve been chasing, waiting for.
Aye give me more, give me more of that good good.
Every night, every night on that doorstep.
Aye say tryna hit and ick, tryna get a fix.

(Chorus)

So don’t you go to fare from me.
Every fix of your drug got me feelin complete.
Never felt this kind of love.
I’m addicted to your touch,
Just a little is not enough.
Cause you’re my, you’re my favorite.
Favorite place to be, I’m for you you’re just for me.
And I say just what it is.
Cause you’re my, you’re my favorite.

(Buddy)

Girl you know you’ve got me, girl you know you’ve got me.
Double tapping every picture you’ve been posting lately.
Girl your love’s explosive and it got me losing focus.
You’re favorite kind of drug and I’ve been overdosing.
Every time that you callin, girl you know you’ve got me falling.
Ain’t no time to be frontin, go knock it off.
Yeah I know you love me, you’re the one and only woman that I want.
If it ain’t you then I be all alone.

(Chorus)

So don’t you go to far from me.
Now we rolling and rolling and smoking on weed.
Never felt this kind of love.
I’m addicted to your touch,
Just a little is not enough.
Cause you’re my, you’re my favorite.
Favorite place to be, I’m for you you’re just for me.
And I say just what it is.
Cause’ you’re my, you’re my favorite.
